On protected sites
On archaeological sites classified as national cultural heritage under Article 19 of the law of 25 February 2022 on cultural heritage :
These sites do not fall within the archaeological observation zone or its sub-zone.
The archaeological remains located at "Devant le Marché", registered in the land register of the Commune of Echternach, section B of Echternach, under number 1047/5939. - Ministerial decree dated 27 October 2022.
On sites classified as national monuments under the law of 18 July 1983 :
Sites classified as national monuments under the law of 18 July 1983 fall within the archaeological observation zone or its sub-zone.
Construction and development projects on these sites are therefore assessed in accordance with article 4 of the Law of 25 February 2022 on cultural heritage on cultural heritage.

The application for authorisation must be submitted to the Minister of Culture before the project commences. Once authorised, such projects are carried out under the supervision of the Institut national pour le patrimoine architectural (National Institute for Architectural Heritage , INPA) or – if the listed building is part of the archaeological heritage - the Institut national de recherches archéologiques (National Institute for Archaeological Research, INRA).
